Dr Charles Middle

Charlie has served as a doctor within the NHS since qualifying from St Thomas’ Hospital, London, in 1989, with varied training in general surgery, ENT and orthopaedics. He was a full-time partner in a West Dorset general practice for twenty-four years and a school medical officer for nineteen. He is Chairman of the Sherborne Voluntary Ambulance and is based in West Dorset.

Dr Matthew Phelan

Qualified at King’s College, London in 2002, followed by three years practising in Australia and New Zealand and General Practice training at Dorset County Hospital. He has worked at hospices in Somerset and Dorset, and takes a holistic approach centred on prevention and long-term patient relationships.

Dr Katie Thomas

Qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London in 2000, and a GP partner in the local area for more than fifteen years. Formerly Senior Medical Officer at a local boarding school, she now combines private practice with NHS work and colleague appraisal.

Dr Mark Morgan

General Practitioner

A general practitioner since 1992, and for more than thirty years a partner at the Sixpenny Handley and Broad Chalke practice in rural North Dorset, where he was also a GP trainer and school medical officer. He has a particular focus on supporting older patients.

Dr Jonathan Tham

General Practitioner

Trained in Cambridge and London across colorectal and vascular surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, gastroenterology and children’s emergency medicine. After several years in a busy South London practice he moved to Dorset in 2023, and co-established the practice’s sleep clinic.
